Spotting 6 Days After Ovulation

Here is an email we received from a concerned women we call A. Our response is below the spotting question.

Question: I have been looking at your site and wanted to inquire about my spotting issue.

I have been off of BC for a year now ( was on it for 9). Initally after the pill I had normal periods, then things went haywire around month 6.

Currently, I spot around 6-7 days after ovulation every cycle. Then I start AF 7 days later (14 dpo). Is it impossible to get pregnant when this happens?

Brown Spotting and Birth Control

Brown spotting and birth control is a common subject but that does not make it normal or less frightening. We have tried to answer a number of questions all in one place for you to sort through.  Maybe you will see yourself in these pages and find answers helpful to you or ask one of your own.

Here is what Carmen wrote to us about:
I started using loestrin 24 about 4 months ago. My periods are now really thick brown mucous and they seem to be happening twice in a month. I don’t know if this is normal or a bad sign.
